Tick-tock we are always on the clock… the more you do… the less time to take care of you!
With so many things fighting for your time and attention, it is hard to find the time to workout… And yes, you can let your busy life get in the way of your fitness goals… or you can get a little bit creative! When it comes to fitness and your life, I say, “Fit it in!”
Dirty Dancing:
This is one of my favorite ways to “Fit in” some exercise while I am also checking something off my never-ending “To Do List.”
It’s time to clean house, so rather than dread it, dance your dirt away… grab your i-pod or turn up your stereo… and Dance while you clean! It may sound silly to you, but why not! Pick music with an upbeat tempo, and get moving. By the time you are done, both you and your house will be looking good!
I really want to know…. Girl… are you your own best friend or your own worst enemy? Do you look in the mirror and find things to feel good about or do you fixate on every possible flaw? You may think it is normal to look at yourself critically, and judge yourself relative to some mythic vision of perfection, but it’s not healthy.
We women are so hard on ourseleves, harder on ourselves than anyone else would ever be. In fact, I truly believe than most of us have a funhouse mirror in our house or even more truthfully, in our minds. And let’s be honest, funhouse mirrors are anything but fun!
It is not a bad thing to see that you are beautiful. I know we are taught to be humble. I know the ideals of beauty can humble even the most confident of people from time to time. However, I want to challenge you to look in the mirror and find the beauty rather than to fixate on flaws.
When you find yourself being critical, realize that you are being your own worst enemy. Push your enemy out of the mirror, look to find what’s beautiful, for once, be your own best friend.
Most people have a limited view of what fitness is. If asked, “What does it mean to be fit?” Most people respond with an answer that refers to of being physically fit. Now don’t get me wrong, I have dedicated most of my life to the fitness industry, and of course physical fitness is part of the being fit. However, what I really want you to know is this… it is neither the end of the story, nor the beginning of it.
Fitness actually starts and ends with the mind, the mental picture of who you are and ultimately who you want to be. Being fit is not about a certain body weight, it’s about having a body that allows you to be an active participant in your ideal life. What does that life look like? What does your body need to be able to do for you to live that life?
Having this fit vision, will help you change the things that you do every day, to transform this vision into a reality. Once you start doing the things to make you more fit, you will start feeling better and looking better… at this point the results will become addictive! You will get a taste of what you are capable of, and this potential will help you create a new reality.
Trust me, where the mind leads, the body will follow.
Many people ask me skin care secrets and tips and its the same thing , I only have 2 words of advice..
1. SUNSCREEN- I personally use sunscreen 365 days a year! SPF OF 50. But if im going to be out longer than 45 min to 1 hour I REACH FOR MY SPF 80. Dont hate I just haven’t made it to the store for the SPF 100 YET!LOL
